ORCHESTRA/BANDS

The Jersey LIVE Orchestra/Band is a group of players who rehearse together and provide music for all of the Jersey LIVE services. Music is an important part of the Sunday worship experience, and this group is responsible for helping bring this experience to life. The Jersey LIVE Orchestra/Band is made up of guitars, keyboards, bass, drums, strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion instruments. The Jersey LIVE Band/Orchestra plays a mix of choruses and hymns in an adult contemporary style.

CHOIRS

We currently have two different style choirs to choose from.  The first one being our Synaxis Choir which provides more of the classical music forum which is directed by Mark Hutsko ( Information contact ) and to our Jersey LIVE Choir that provides praise and worship music is directed by Mark Hutsko ( Information contact ). 

PRAISE LEADERS 

Thed Jersey LIVE Praise Leaders are a group of auditioned vocalist who provide worship leadership on a rotating basis for all of the Jersey LIVE services.

Upcoming Opportunity In Synaxis Worship

For the past two years, Ben Williams has served the Synaxis Venue as organist, substitute pianist and substitute choir director.  During this period of time, Ben has completed his doctoral degree in music theory and composition at The Ohio State University.  Now, God has called Ben and his wife Emily to new opportunities in Mississippi where Ben will be Assistant Professor of Music Theory and Composition at Mississippi College in Clinton, MS.  We are thankful for their service to Jersey Baptist Church and pray that God will continue to bless them.

Ben will leave in August, 2010.  We are praying for a new organist for the Synaxis Venue.  This is an urgent need we pray will be filled before the end of this summer.  If you have played church organ in the past, perhaps this is the opportunity for service God has prepared for you.  Or perhaps you know of some one that God has gifted with the talent to fill this opportunity to serve.
