Security Procedures
The purpose of the following information is to explain the process for drop off and pick up of preschoolers to classrooms.
Sunday Morning and Evening Services
A Preschool Ministry greeter will welcome you. You will need to pick up a pager and a Parent Card from the front desk and proceed to the preschool area down the hallway. To ensure your child’s safety, we will have a security check point just beyond the first white fire doors, before you enter into the Preschool area.
Every guardian must have a Parent Card to gain access to the Preschool hallway.
If you are needed to return to your child’s room prior to the end of service, you will receive a page on your Security Pager. Please come to the Welcome Desk and give your name and your child’s name to the Desk Volunteer. You will also need to turn in the Security Pager at this time. They will direct you to your child’s classroom.
Guardians: To assure the proper care of your child it is necessary for all items left with your child to be labeled with their name. You can obtain a gift diaper bag tag for diaper bags by stopping at the Preschool Welcome Desk and asking for one.
Drop off & Pick Up
Once you have arrived to your child’s room, you will find a sign-in sheet on the counter next to the door. It is important that guardians complete all columns such as: location of guardians, special instructions (such as allergies, special diaper change requests, etc.), time child is signed in, and Security Pager number. This will be our attendance record that will accompany the children anytime they may be taken to another room, playground, etc. to assure accountability of all preschoolers.
Preschoolers may be received as early as 15 minutes before each session, and should be picked up immediately following a church function. Preschoolers are easily upset when they are the last ones in a room.
When returning to pick up your child, you will need to hand in your Security Pager at the desk and then show your Parent Card to enter the Preschool hallway.
Proceed to your child’s room and show your Parent Card with the Pager number on the back to the teacher (please knock before entering the room). The teacher will check to make sure that the Pager number matches the one written on the sign in sheet and then sign your child out and initial the time that they were dismissed.
Teachers will collect the Parent Cards at the time of pick up. If you have more than one child to pick up, let the first teacher know and turn your card into the teacher of the last of your children you pick up.
Wednesday Awana Services
Puggles and Cubbies will meet in the Preschool classrooms. You should stop at the Welcome Desk where you will be given a Security Card that will serve as your access to the Preschool rooms. These cards will again be required to be shown to the greeter to pick up your child and then returned to a Puggles or Cubbies leader.
All preschoolers younger that Puggles age (two by September 1st), will use the same Pager system that is used on Sunday mornings and Sunday evening.
